DOKOSOKO HIGHSCHOOL is a tabletop solo-RPG engine that lets you play Visual Novel style games. In its core manual, you'll find...

  • A default setting with 12 pre.-made NPCs, and both city and school maps. Sorta. Kinda.
  • Rules for playing the game based on eleven commands: MOVE, TALK, EXAMINE, REST, ACTION, CHALLENGE, INVOKE, TAGGING, REACT, UPDATE and ENDURE.
  • Social rules that let you turn Strangers into Acquaintances, forge Bonds, engage in Rivalries, start Romances, and more.
  • Dialogue rules covering heated arguments, polite conversations, friendly talks and intimate moments.
  • A Resources Appendix document with tables, rules summaries, sheets and cards.

But that's not all, because in addition of the core game, you can also get the following DLCs (fear not, they're as free as the game itself)
  • VANILLA+ MODE: new NPC roles, rules for creating them (nope, those rules were NOT in the core manual), and more!
  • CLIQUES&COMRADES: rules for managing NPC-NPC relationships and Factions!

UPDATES STORY

  • The missing ‘Nice to meet you!’ Goal has been included; now, you can play a game where you’re not forced to be a jerk with any NPC you meet for the first time (not saying that kind of game couldn’t be fun, but that’s not the point!).
  • A discussion about how to execute the INVOKE command against the NPC who’s being invoked has been included.

  • All mentions to the non-existent 'Would you kindly?' Goal have been removed. That should have been read as the 'Deal?' one, instead. Yes, I had been playing Bioshock while writing the first version of this Add-on, how did you guess?

  1. I think the "Nice to meet you" Goal is missing, so there's no way to change Strangers to Acquittances other than being rude to them (i.e. use the Stormy First Meeting Option). :P

    1. Oops, that's been quite an oversight, thanks for the tip! I'll correct it ASAP. (Not that a game where the protagonist MUST be rude when meeting every NPC for the first time couldn't be fun...but that's not the point!).
